Who remembers the old cartoon on how a bill becomes law? (you know the one where a bill sings a catchy tune and explains how a bill becomes law)
For someone with a feeble mind like mine this video was perfect. It was one of the few things I remember from my public school days.
Well - this video has been making a bit of a reunion tour as many political commentators have cited it in recent day when discussing the health care legislation that just passed yesterday (for those of you who live under a rock - read/watch more on this historic vote).
Why are so many people citing this video once again? Let's just say that the health care legislation that was just passed almost disregarded everything that the video teaches.
Here is an example of someone who recalled this awesome video. It's a great opinion piece from the Wall Street Journal that chronicles what the health care bill went through to become law.
So I invite you to watch School House Rock's - How a bill become law once again for a quick civics refresher... if not for that - it will help you remember how cool cartoons in the 80s were.
