Moving out - 4 reasons why

For the 1 person who follows this blog - this is a notice that I will be spending the majority of my time (if not all) on a new blogging site called Tumblr.

I highly recommend it.

Here are a few reasons why I am making the switch.

1. Easier to manage media - photos, videos and audio are super simple to add. The interface to post and consume media on their site is far superior to any other free blogging tool.

2. Easier to get updates from individuals you follow. Much like Google reader - but prettier.

3. Themes look MUCH better.

4. John Mayer told me to switch.

So there you have it. Give Tumblr a try. I think you will find it a better blogging tool.

Muse musings

The MUSE concert is still ringing in my head. Since that amazing concert (see pics and video here) I find myself hearing similarities of Muse songs in other songs in my iPod.

Example: I recently heard a song that reminded me of the famous MUSE song "Knights of Cydonia."

Call me crazy - but doesn't Europe's classic song, "the Final Countdown" have a similar sound/feel to "Knights of Cydonia"?

Tell me what you think:

First time on olympic ice - Look out Mr. Ohno

Jeanette finally got me to ice skate at the olympic oval. It was only the 3rd time I have ever ice skated in my life - so I prepared myself for complete failure... painful failure.

That being said - the ice skating gods were good to me and I didn't fall once. Nor did Jeanette. It was pretty amazing skating on the same oval that olympic events were held on not too long ago. Sort of a pity that I don't visit it more often.

After a shaky start we got going pretty good. I'd place us at just above beginner - but nowhere close to olympic level.

I have to admit - it was pretty fun gliding on that olympic ice. I might have to try it again some time.

Here is some great footage taken with my cell phone. Although it looks like we aren't going that fast I swear we were going at a good pace. Ignore the people blazing by us.

How a bill becomes law - revised

Who remembers the old cartoon on how a bill becomes law? (you know the one where a bill sings a catchy tune and explains how a bill becomes law)

For someone with a feeble mind like mine this video was perfect. It was one of the few things I remember from my public school days.

Well - this video has been making a bit of a reunion tour as many political commentators have cited it in recent day when discussing the health care legislation that just passed yesterday (for those of you who live under a rock - read/watch more on this historic vote).

Why are so many people citing this video once again? Let's just say that the health care legislation that was just passed almost disregarded everything that the video teaches.

Here is an example of someone who recalled this awesome video. It's a great opinion piece from the Wall Street Journal that chronicles what the health care bill went through to become law.

So I invite you to watch School House Rock's - How a bill become law once again for a quick civics refresher... if not for that - it will help you remember how cool cartoons in the 80s were.

Another new post

Google has launched a new social media tool called Buzz. Not too sure about it - but I do like the idea of them integrating it within Gmail.

Now that I have made a great observation about recent tech news - enjoy this amazing photo of the kids and I rocking YogaX.

Time for an update

Upon reviewing the many blogs that I have started only to let die I decided to update this, one of my first blogs, with a recent video.

Feast your eyes on yet another video manifestation of a waste of time. Courtesy of my bro-in-law, Johnny.

Until next time.
